PRACTICE ACCOUNTANT - HALIFAX

As an Accountant in this small but busy practice, you'll take responsibility for a broad portfolio of SME clients. Depending on your experience, you'll be given autonomy to handle everything from accounts prep and tax returns, to building direct client relationships and contributing to audit work (if relevant).

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts and management accounts
• Handling VAT returns, corporation tax, and personal tax computations
• Supporting clients directly answering queries, offering advice, and building rapport
• Contributing to audit assignments if experienced/interested
• Reviewing junior team members work and providing guidance (depending on level)
• Managing your own workflow and deadlines independently

What were looking for:

You might be an experienced Semi Senior Accountant, a developing Accounts Assistant ready for a step up, or a steady Senior Accountant looking for a more personal working environment. Either way, you should bring:

• At least 5 years' experience working in a UK accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and tax
• Audit experience beneficial, but not essential
• Part-qualified, fully qualified, or qualified by experience all welcome
• A confident, personable manner and a positive, proactive approach
• Great time management and attention to detail
• Familiarity with accountancy software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or CCH
• Driving Licence (for client meetings etc.)
