Job Title: Director, Employee Relations

Main Purpose of the Role:

  • Strategic Results: Drive strategic and tactical decisions for HR functions, aligning resources to meet key objectives in line with strategic goals.

  • Customer Centricity: Act as a trusted HR partner across functions, enabling delivery of exceptional services to customers.
  • Financial Results: Maintain cost efficiency without compromising HR service quality.

  • People Development: Improve employee satisfaction (eNPS), develop leadership pipelines with a focus on local talent, and manage labor union relations.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Labor Union:

  • Strategic Direction: Develop and plan labor relation activities, ensure compliance with labor laws and HR policies, and act as a neutral partner in union negotiations.
  • Standards and Manuals: Stay updated on labor laws, maintain employee handbooks, and update HR policies.
  • Operations: Maintain relationships with the Ministry of Labor and labor union, manage labor cases, provide handbook training, support disabled employees, and ensure compliance with internal rules.
  • Continuous Improvement: Facilitate focus groups, gather feedback, co-create action plans, and close implementation gaps to enhance employee engagement.

General Services Management:

  • Strategic Direction: Develop and implement strategies for General Services Management (e.g., transportation, canteen, cleaning services) and ensure compliance with permits and licenses.
  • Operations: Approve contractor selection criteria, ensure smooth contractor operations, and provide suggestions for improvements.

Security Management:

  • Strategic Direction: Coordinate security efforts, review security policies, manage budgets, and oversee surveillance and control across plants.
  • Operations: Ensure security support aligns with customer requirements, manage fraud and security breach investigations, and oversee security systems.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Manage labor union negotiations without negative impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with Thai labor laws.
  • Complete investigations of breaches within 3 days.
  • Maintain high employee satisfaction scores (eNPS).
  • Adhere to budgetary constraints (OPEX/CAPEX).
  • Manage security and general services effectively.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Masters or Bachelors degree in Labor Law, Political Science, or Human Resource Management.
  • Professional Experience: Strong HR and labor law knowledge, communication and negotiation skills, and corporate decision-making abilities.
  • Personal Competencies: Strategic perspective, problem-solving skills, inspirational leadership, and strong stakeholder management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and good English communication skills.
  • Other Skills: Creativity and effective negotiation.

Comments:

  • Proven record in managing labor unions and deep knowledge of Thai labor law required.
