🏷 The mission.

 

We're looking for someone to come and reinforce our client’s engineering team as a back-end engineer and continuously improve their web app that is used by all franchises.

 

Current features:

• Features that makes it possible for franchises to have an end-to-end view on their transactions.

 

• Building integrations with third-party API's.

 

• Our client has a lot of different suppliers that's why they want to build a digital process to make this as optimal as possible.

 

• Building dashboards for our franchises so that they have a complete view on their metrics.

 

New features:

 

• Accelerate onboarding process for franchisee members

 

• One of the main components is our client’s Marketing Agency, that's why they have built features to make this more accessible and usable for their franchises.

 

• An e-shop so that customers can easily order their commercial supports.

 

Since our client is still in the early stages of its app you will be contributing a lot to the core design of the architecture that will have to evolve a lot as our client scales through Europe.

 

Today the engineering team consist of 4 people which means they are still a small team that has to figure out a lot of different things before being able to scale their app and their team.

• A skilled back end engineer that loves building applications in Node.js with experience in the NestJS framework being a big plus.

 

• Loves clean code and are always looking to improve your skills by finding the best solution to implement and try to follow the engineering principles as well as you can.

👾 The tech’ environment. 

 

• JavaScript codebases for the front and back-end of applications and more specifically Node.js with the NestJS framework for the back end.

 

• To improve the security and reduce risk of using JavaScript we decided to use TypeScript for different applications (Front and back-end).

 

• The connection between front-end application (that is built in React) is made through a GraphQL API.

 

• Current database is a PostgreSQL database that is hosted on AWS RDS.

 

• To handle database queries, they are using TypeORM.

 

• To facilitate deployment and development they decided to containerize applications using Docker and also decided to use K8s to orchestrate these containers.
