Senior Backend Engineer

Were seeking a scrappy, self-starter Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in high-throughput distributed systems. Youll strengthen our core order management engine, optimize TPS, expand asset classes, and develop features & strategies around retail order flow.

Requirements:

• Proven experience building real-time, high-throughput systems with 99.9%+ uptime
• Strong proficiency in Golang (or Rust / Python + C++ if no direct Golang experience)
• Background in async queuing systems, batch processing, pub-sub architecture, and websockets
• Skilled in database scalability & systems-level performance optimization
• Hands-on with AWS / Infra-as-Code (Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, orchestration)
• Product-first problem solver not just code-first
• Finance domain interest/experience (trading, quant research, brokerage, crypto, exchanges)
• Fluent English required, Mandarin highly preferred
• Resilient mindset a firefighter with a few burns and scars, but not burnt out

Responsibilities:

• Own the design and evolution of our high-performance backend systems powering real-time trading and order execution.
  
• Push the limits of scalability and reliability optimize throughput, latency, and fault tolerance across distributed environments.
  
• Expand and enhance the core order management engine to support new asset classes and advanced trading strategies.
  
• Build resilient, event-driven architectures using async processing, queues, and pub/sub systems.
  
• Drive database scalability and performance improvements to handle rapid data growth.
• Partner closely with the founders and product team to align technical direction with business goals.
• Lead by example in code quality, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
• Act as a key problem-solver and technical mentor within the team, ensuring systems remain stable under heavy load.
