The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the field of oncology is a critical role within the Medical Affairs team. The MSL serves as a scientific expert and primary point of contact for healthcare professionals (HCPs), including oncologists, researchers, and other stakeholders involved in cancer care. This position requires a deep understanding of oncology therapeutics, clinical research, and the competitive landscape to effectively communicate complex scientific information and support the development and commercialization of oncology products.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of oncology disease states, treatment paradigms, and emerging therapies.
  • Stay current with relevant literature, clinical trials, and advancements in oncology to provide accurate information to HCPs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other influential HCPs in the oncology field.
  • Assist in the recruitment of investigators for ongoing studies by providing scientific support and resources.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to ensure alignment between medical strategy and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with industry regulations regarding communication of scientific information.

Profile

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in life sciences or related field; specialization in oncology preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a medical science liaison role or similar position within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of oncology therapeutic areas including but not limited to solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, immunotherapy, targeted therapies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with KOLs and engage effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
