About the role: seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead initiatives in cancer genomics embedded within cancer research, immunology, and biomarker discovery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, coupled with expertise in cancer biology and genomics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and apply emerging technological trends to enhance project outcomes. Facilitate the adoption of innovative technologies and promote idea sharing across various teams.
- Report progress to management and key stakeholders within the organization, ensuring that resource requests from translational medicine partners are addressed effectively.
- Collaborate efficiently with colleagues in computational biology and histopathology. Manage partnerships with sponsors, service providers, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders.
- Oversee timelines and prepare project progress reports for sponsors and service providers to ensure alignment with project goals.
Requirements:
- A PhD or an equivalent degree in the life sciences is required, with a comprehensive understanding of genomics and genetics, particularly related to DNA/RNA in tumor tissues or cancer immunology.
- Experience with technologies for genetic and epigenetic profiling of cancer cell lines and human biospecimens, including tissues and liquid biopsies. Proficiency in cancer immunology techniques based on liquid or tissue analysis (e.g., immunohistochemistry, soluble biomarker assays, or flow cytometry).
- Scientific emphasis on cancer immunology or cancer genetics, including the molecular mechanisms that drive the initiation and progression of cancer, as well as translational research.
- Demonstrated project management abilities with at least three years of post-doctoral experience, preferably in cancer genetics or tumor biology.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and presentation skills are essential. Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of German is advantageous.
