Head of Oncology

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic development of oncology applications within the organization
  • Advancement of core technology related to ex-vivo compound screening (both scientific and business aspects)
  • Establishment and growth of multi-omics in oncology as a viable business model
  • Establishing and fostering collaborations with leading clinical and research institutions
  • Oversight of budget management, including profit and loss accountability
  • Planning and executing HR and investment strategies within the scope of the approved budget
  • Planning, regular evaluation, and implementation of long-term business strategies aligned with the organization's goals (scientific focus on developing products and services for patient care and treatment)
  • Entrepreneurial leadership by guiding projects toward achieving scientific objectives and adhering to financial budgets
  • Coordinating corrective actions with project leads in response to significant deviations from the agreed-upon project plan
  • Initiating and overseeing dissemination activities in collaboration with customers
  • Promoting and managing internal collaborations (meetings, strategic discussions)
  • Serving as the primary contact for all staff working on relevant projects
  • Facilitating, supporting, and mediating communication between executive leadership (CEOs, Management Board) and all employees
  • Independently planning and executing all tasks mentioned above in consultation with the CEOs

Requirements:

  • Experience in industry roles or significant collaboration with industrial partners
  • PhD (or equivalent) in basic natural sciences or MD
  • Strong scientific track record, including:
  • Publication of original research in high-impact journals
  • Proven success in securing third-party funding
  • Proven experience in establishing and managing research groups or teams
  • Clinical experience is a plus
