About the job IT Helpdesk Technician
Are you passionate about technology and problem-solving? We are looking for an IT Helpdesk Technician to provide technical support and ensure smooth IT operations within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to employees via phone, email, and in person.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Assist with setting up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT support when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of issues and solutions in the ticketing system.
- Ensure security protocols and best practices are followed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking, Active Directory, and Office 365.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications (South Africa):
- Matric (Grade 12) Essential
- IT-related diploma or degree (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science) Advantageous
- A+, N+ Certification Preferred
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-100, MD-101) Advantageous
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Beneficial for networking roles
