Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM + After-Hours Rotation

Residential Service Plumber

We are seeking an experienced Residential Service Plumber to join a well-established, family-owned plumbing company serving the Howell, Michigan area.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced plumber who enjoys diagnosing problems, making quality repairs, running service calls independently, and taking care of customers without high-pressure sales tactics.

You'll also have an inventory team and parts runners available to stock your truck and deliver parts, water heaters, and other materials directly to job sites—allowing you to spend more time plumbing and less time chasing materials.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair residential plumbing problems, including leaks, clogs, water-line issues, drain problems, and fixture failures
• Install, replace, and service toilets, faucets, fixtures, garbage disposals, water heaters, sump pumps, water softeners, and related equipment
• Troubleshoot residential water heaters and plumbing systems
• Perform drain clearing and basic sewer and water-line troubleshooting
• Assess service calls, determine required repairs and materials, and complete work safely and efficiently
• Explain findings, repair options, and recommended next steps clearly to homeowners
• Complete service notes, photos, invoices, and job documentation
• Follow applicable plumbing codes, safety procedures, and company quality standards
• Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools, equipment, and assigned inventory
• Run residential service calls independently while working as part of a supportive team
• Present customers with appropriate service and product options without high-pressure sales tactics

What We're Looking For

• Previous residential service plumbing experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to independently run residential plumbing service calls
• Experience repairing and replacing common residential plumbing equipment
• Professional communication skills and ability to work directly with homeowners
• Valid driver's license with a clean and reliable driving record
• Ability to pass required background and employment screening
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of plumbing work, including lifting, carrying, kneeling, crawling, and working in confined spaces
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Traditional and tankless water heaters
• Drain cleaning
• Sewer and water-line repair
• Sump pumps
• Water treatment and softener systems
• Gas piping
• Boilers
• Backflow systems
• Digital service software, tablets, or electronic invoicing

Schedule

• Normal operating hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• After-hours/on-call rotation
