Position: Accounting Manager

Overview
A growing and well-established organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations while providing strategic financial insight to leadership. This role combines hands-on accounting management with high-level financial analysis and planning, making it ideal for a professional who is both technically strong and business-oriented.

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and helping leadership make informed financial decisions that support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Strategic Insight

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis including variance, trend, and performance analysis
  • Develop financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning initiatives
  • Evaluate operational results and identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue improvement
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Support scenario planning and financial risk analysis
  • Partner with department leaders to evaluate financial performance and guide resource allocation

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Maintain and enhance internal financial reporting tools, dashboards, and processes
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with outside auditors
  • Develop executive-level financial presentations and leadership reporting
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure integrity of financial reporting

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee general ledger activities, month-end close processes, and account reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting
  • Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors as needed
  • Identify and implement process improvements and support financial system enhancements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Demonstrated financial analysis and modeling capabilities
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Proven leadership ability and experience developing or mentoring team members
