Specialist, Business Development hybrid
Job Description:
Our client, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Specialist, Business Development Industries (Energy & Infrastructure). This role supports firmwide business development and marketing initiatives across key industry sectors, with a particular focus on global energy and infrastructure. The Specialist will collaborate closely with attorneys and business development colleagues to produce high-quality client pitches, proposals, and RFP responses for complex, cross-border transactions and projects. The position also contributes to profile-raising efforts, including directory submissions, events, research, and strategic marketing collateral that reinforce the firm's market position.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with attorneys and business development team members to draft and deliver compelling pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.
- Create and maintain marketing materialspractice descriptions, website content, attorney biographies, capability decks, and experience lists.
- Manage submissions for legal directories, rankings, and industry awards tied to energy and infrastructure.
- Oversee sponsorships and industry partnerships to ensure strategic alignment and ROI.
- Conduct research on clients, prospects, markets, and competitors to support business development initiatives and cross-selling.
- Work with attorneys and events teams to plan and execute client programs, webinars, and industry conferences; maintain relevant contact lists.
- Support industry and client team initiatives to drive collaboration and revenue growth.
- Partner with marketing, communications, and design teams on media relations, thought leadership, digital campaigns, and collateral development.
- Develop deep familiarity with firm practice areas to effectively support targeting and positioning efforts.
- Perform additional business development and marketing duties as needed.
Proficiencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and proofreading.
- Understanding of law firm operations and corporate legal buying dynamics.
- Knowledge of marketing strategy, positioning, and business development best practices.
- Familiarity with trends, tools, and technologies in professional services marketing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Strong organizational, relationship-building, and teamwork skills.
- Foundational understanding of legal terminology and concepts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, law, business, communications, or related field (required).
- 5+ years of professional marketing or business development experience, with a law firm (required).
- Experience supporting Corporate or Energy & Infrastructure practices preferred.
