Position Summary
The Finance Director is responsible for leading the company's financial strategy, planning, and operations. This individual partners closely with the General Manager and leadership team to drive financial performance, optimize profitability, and support strategic decision-making.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Finance Director oversees all accounting and financial functions, including financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, and compliance. This role combines hands-on financial oversight with forward-looking strategic leadership to improve business performance and scalability.

Essential Functions
- Provide strategic financial leadership and serve as a key advisor to the General Manager and President
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, job costing, and work-in-process (WIP) reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Develop and deliver financial statements, including variance analysis and actionable insights for leadership
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
- Monitor and optimize cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health of the business
- Establish and continuously improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls
- Leverage ERP systems (Epicor BisTrack, Great Plains) to enhance reporting, visibility, and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee tax filings including sales & use tax, payroll tax, and income tax in coordination with external partners
- Lead relationships with external stakeholders including CPA firms, auditors, insurance brokers, and benefits providers
- Oversee retirement plans, insurance programs, and risk management initiatives
- Identify opportunities for cost control, margin improvement, and operational efficiency
- Build, develop, and mentor the finance team (including payroll using ADP) to drive performance and accountability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership to support data-driven decision-making

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably within distribution, construction, or LBM industries
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance/accounting teams
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and business analytics
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor BisTrack, Great Plains, or similar) and advanced reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to translate financial data into strategic business insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior leadership
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
