Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed startup rebuilding critical operational infrastructure in a large, overlooked industry. The problems are messy, workflow-heavy, and high-trust. The software matters.

The Stack

• React + TypeScript
• Node.js
• Postgres
• AWS (Lambda, Fargate, S3, Cognito)
• Terraform
• GitHub Actions
• Datadog

We ship fast, but we care about system design.

The Role

Youll:

• Build and own end-to-end features
• Design APIs and data models that wont collapse in 18 months
• Make architectural decisions alongside the founders
• Integrate AI into real production workflows (not just demos)
• Improve reliability and observability
• Help define engineering culture early

Youll have meaningful input into:

• How we structure services
• How we deploy
• How we use AI internally and in-product
• What good looks like for engineering quality

What Were Looking For

• 5–8 years experience shipping production software
• Strong backend fundamentals
• Experience owning systems, not just components
• Good product instincts
• Comfortable with ambiguity

Bonus:

• Experience in regulated / operationally complex environments
• Experience integrating LLMs into real workflows
• Early-stage startup experience
