About the role

Vortech is seeking a Java Solutions Architect to join a long-term international project focused on the evolution of the corporate Front Office platform of a confidential European agency.

The role involves direct coordination with teams in Brussels and other European locations. The successful candidate will act as a technical reference for the project, with significant autonomy in architectural decisions and responsibility for solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve the architecture of an enterprise Front Office platform built with Java and modern architectural approaches.
  • Lead the technical analysis required to deploy the system across regional and national offices in different countries.
  • Define how the platform will integrate with local infrastructures and external corporate environments.
  • Work on the platform's core community version and its integration with front-end and web solutions.
  • Produce high-quality architecture documentation, including High-Level Architecture documents, design documents and other technical artefacts.
  • Collaborate with international stakeholders and external development units.
  • Act as the main technical reference for the project.
  • Make architectural and technical decisions autonomously.
  • Resolve complex technical problems in resource-constrained environments.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Solutions Architect.
  • Strong previous experience in Java backend development.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering complex solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Experience producing formal architecture documentation, including High-Level Architecture documents, design documents and technical design artefacts.
  • C1 level of English, as English is the day-to-day working language of the project. 
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of technical decisions.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Confidence acting as the technical reference in discussions with the client and other stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience working on projects for European institutions or international public-sector organisations.
  • Experience integrating solutions based on open-source or community-edition platforms.
  • Experience coordinating external or geographically distributed development teams.
