Our client is a leading Kenyan supplier and distributor of premium lighting products, including chandeliers, LED lamps, light fittings, and accessories, with four branches nationwide. As part of their strategic growth and market expansion, they seek a dynamic Marketing and Sales Manager to spearhead sales initiatives and strengthen customer relationships.

Job Description

The Marketing and Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding our customer base, and enhancing our brand presence in the Kenyan market. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales, particularly in the construction industry, and a deep understanding of lighting products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy and Execution
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets.
    • Identify and target potential B2B clients in the construction industry, including contractors, architects, and developers.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  2. Marketing and Branding
    • Design and execute marketing campaigns to promote Power Innovations products and services.
    • Collaborate with the management and the marketing team to create compelling content, including brochures, presentations, and digital marketing materials.
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions.
  3. Market Research and Analysis
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs.
    • Analyze competitor activities and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  4. Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and mentor the sales team to achieve individual and collective targets.
    • Provide training and support to enhance the team's product knowledge and sales skills.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  5. Customer Relationship Management
    • Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining long-term relationships.
    • Develop and implement customer retention strategies to maximize repeat business.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in the construction, interior design, or retail sectors and lighting industry.
  • Must be conversant in LED technology and energy-efficient lighting trends to ensure candidates can consult and advise clients authoritatively.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, preferably in the lighting and electrical industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan market and B2B sales dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of chandeliers and lighting fixtures and related accessories.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Experience with import / export procedures is a plus.

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing and leading a sales team.
  • Knowledge of lighting products and industry trends.
  • Strong network of contacts in the construction industry.
