Responsible for ensuring an exceptional dining experience. Core duties include greeting and seating guests, accurately taking and delivering orders, serving food and drinks, maintaining dining room cleanliness, and processing payments.
Here is a clear breakdown of the essential responsibilities:
1. Guest Service & Communication
- Welcome & Seat: Greet customers, lead them to their tables, and provide menus.
- Menu Knowledge: Understand the menu, daily specials, ingredients, and potential allergens to answer questions and offer informed recommendations.
- Take Orders: Accurately record food and drink orders, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Ensure Satisfaction: Check in with guests throughout the meal to ensure everything meets expectations, and provide refills or additional items as needed.
2. Food & Beverage Delivery
- Coordination: Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff efficiently.
- Serving: Pick up and deliver food and drinks in a timely, professional, and safe manner.
- Order Accuracy: Verify each dish matches the guest's order before serving.
3. Cleaning & Table Maintenance
- Pre-bussing: Clear empty plates and used utensils during the meal to keep the table clutter-free.
- Resetting: Promptly clear and wipe down tables after guests leave, and reset them with clean linens and silverware for the next diners.
- Side Work: Restock napkins, clean dining room floors, and keep service stations organized before, during, and after shifts.
4. Billing & Payments
Process Payments: Deliver checks accurately, process cash or card payments, and return receipts or correct change.
