Accountant

 Job Description:

Role Overview

The Accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while supporting management with financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable

  • Reconcile bank statements and petty cash

  • Process payroll and statutory deductions

  • Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (KRA, VAT, PAYE, NSSF, SHA, etc.)

  • Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure

  • Track expenses and manage cash flow

  • Issue invoices and follow up on outstanding payments

  • Support external audits and provide necessary documentation

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA (Part II or above) or equivalent qualification is an added advantage

  • Proven experience in an accounting role

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books, or similar)

  • Strong knowledge of tax compliance and statutory requirements

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information

  • Good communication and organizational skills
