JOB OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a commercially driven E-commerce Data Analyst to join a high-impact Data Squad within a large omnichannel retail environment.
This role is embedded directly within the business, specifically aligned to the logistics/delivery and e-commerce product space, where you will work closely with stakeholders to drive data-led decision-making across the full e-commerce lifecycle.
You will operate at the intersection of data, product, and business, working with high-volume transactional datasets to uncover insights, optimise performance, and support strategic initiatives across areas such as online sales, fulfilment, and customer experience.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end role covering requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, implementation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Analytics & Insights
- Analyse e-commerce and logistics performance, including customer behaviour, product performance, fulfilment efficiency, and delivery operations
- Work with large-scale transactional datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Generate both ad-hoc and recurring insights to support commercial decision-making
Reporting & Visualisation
- Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports to enable self-service analytics
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across different levels of the business
- Continuously improve reporting frameworks to align with evolving business needs
Data System & Delivery
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define:
- Data requirements
- Data structures (tables, datasets)
- Tracking and measurement frameworks
- Support the full lifecycle: requirements specification testing implementation
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and usability across business-critical reporting
Business Engagement
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders
- Partner closely with product owners and operational teams (particularly within PAXI)
- Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand challenges and identify opportunities
Performance Measurement
- Define and track KPIs across e-commerce and logistics functions
- Measure the impact of initiatives such as product launches, promotions, and operational improvements
- Recommend optimisations based on data-driven insights
Advanced Analytics
- Contribute to more advanced analytical use cases such as:
- Demand forecasting
- Conversion optimisation
- Customer behaviour analysis
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Technical Expertise
- Strong SQL skills (essential)
- Experience working with high-volume data environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
- Experience with BI and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau)
- Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4) and digital tracking
- Exposure to Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms (advantageous)
- Strong foundation in statistics, data modelling, and data quality management

- Confident communicator, able to present to multiple levels within the organisation

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Relevant tertiary qualification in a commercial, analytical, or technical field
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or similar role
- Proven experience in e-commerce, retail, or high-volume transactional environments
- Experience working closely with business stakeholders and product teams
- Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end data solutions
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
- Experience within bricks-and-mortar retail environments
- Exposure to logistics or delivery platforms (e.g. PAXI-type environments)
- Hybrid Data Analyst / Business Analyst experience
