JOB OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our small but dynamic team. The position is best suited to someone who enjoys preparing financial statements and wants exposure to a wide range of responsibilities in a boutique family office environment.
You'll work closely with the executive team, be involved in meaningful decision-making, and have the opportunity to learn across different areas of the business and get international exposure.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
- Prepare annual financial statements for offshore trusts.
- Draft financials from General Ledger to Trial Balance and complete Annual Financial Statements.
- Administer and manage offshore trusts, including day-to-day operations.
- Maintain accurate monthly internal accounting records for the business using Xero.
- Manage reconciliations, cash flow, and expense tracking for the internal business accounts.
- Assist and support executives with various financial tasks and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with the executive team on ad hoc and strategic financial matters.
- Contribute insight and expertise to help improve processes, reporting accuracy, and financial compliance across the business.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong in Financial Statements.
- Familiarity with Xero or other cloud-based accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and confidence working independently.
- Comfortable engaging with forex figures and cross-border transactions.
- Someone who is proactive, adaptable, and able to think creatively in a boutique environment.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- BCom degree or equivalent accounting qualification is preferred.
- SAIPA qualification is advantageous.
- More important than formal qualifications is a strong desire to grow, learn, and actively contribute to the team's and business's success.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 3 years post-article experience.
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
- Exposure in Offshore trusts.
- Exposure to IFRS or international structures.
