JOB OVERVIEW:

The role is for a Junior data migration consultant Trainee. They are expected to develop technical and functional skills in the area of Data Migration, as well as Consulting skills. Over a 3-month training period, the Trainee Data Consultant is expected to become proficient in SAP Data Services, SAP Migration Cockpit and any other ETL Solution. Thereafter the Trainee Data Consultant will be skilled and can be placed on a Project, only if one becomes available and suitable to the Trainee Data Consultant. It is also expected that the Trainee Data Consultant will display a high level of skill with SQL.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

• Participates in discussions and workshops.
• Develop documentation as requested.
• Executes test scripts and assists with testing as directed, applying critical thinking.
• Develops as per directions given, and provides support in documentation, knowledge transfer and testing.
• Creates load files, validates data, extracts, transforms and loads data.
• Prepares data files, loads data files and configures any portions of a solution as instructed.
• Interprets a Functional Spec document and can document a requirement in preparation for build.
• Interacts and communicates effectively with the customer, the project team, the GlueData team and any related teams, as necessary.
• Gather information and facts. Analyse business information and data, drawing relevant conclusions.
• Demonstrates capability and produces work that is approved by GlueData management. 
• Sets priorities appropriately, and ensures that work outputs are timely and of the highest quality. 
• Learns and uses the SAP Activate methodology and tools (or any other agreed project methodology and tools used on projects).
• Develops and displays conceptual knowledge of GlueData's solutions, services and products. 
• Develops a clear understanding of SAP data quality and data management concepts.
• Is able to analyse data to determine data quality issues and suggest methods and rules to improve data quality / cleanse data

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• BSc degree in Computer Science or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 1-2 years of working experience in SQL.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

• Familiarity with SAP Data Services, SAP Migration Cockpit, or other ETL tools.
• Understanding of SAP data management and data quality principles.
• Exposure to the SAP Activate methodology or similar project frameworks.
• Experience with data analysis and cleansing techniques.
