National Director of Sales

 Job Description:

Position: National Sales Director
Location: Greater Pittsburgh Area
Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000 + Bonus
Requirements:
⦁ Bachelors degree or masters degree in marketing/business or related field preferred.
⦁ Experience in managing $200 million in sales revenue.
⦁ Excellent record of at least 10 years of sales leadership experience required.
⦁ Chemical industry background highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

⦁ Provides effective leadership and motivation to the sales team to inspire high performance.
⦁ Deliver thorough and detailed reports to management and Senior Leadership team on agreed KPIs and
general activities of the team.
⦁ Assigns territories and sets budgets for sales teams.
⦁ This position is responsible for performing sales-related duties as well.
⦁ Communicate with production based on monthly/quarterly and annual sales plans.
⦁ Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales budgets and strategies.
⦁ Prepares, monitors, and approves sales expense budget.
⦁ Works with all teams and departments on projects dealing with sales including product development
and launches, client research, marketing, and team analysis.
⦁ Manage all segments of the profit/loss statement to assure annual goals are achieved.
⦁ Develop and direct sales programs, within company policies.
⦁ Negotiate approved contracts; review and analyze customer needs and recommend new products or
improvements to present products to meet customer requirements.
⦁ Meet with all major direct accounts to maintain position and pursue growth opportunities.
⦁ Meet with all distributors at least on a semi-annual basis to review all accounts, and performance and
address goals and opportunities.
⦁ Travel with distributors to all key accounts in their territory to drive growth.
⦁ Negotiate all pricing and terms for direct accounts, distributors, and all support accounts covered
through distribution.
⦁ Communicate regularly with management the results and progress of meetings and opportunities.
⦁ Monitor order flows and address all issues with customers.
⦁ Monitor all market and competitive information for territory planning and strategy.
⦁ Forecast and input volumes for each customer and product SKU and pricing monthly into the Jedox ERP
system.
⦁ Drives a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, both personally and professionally, with
the US sales team.
⦁ Develop annual operating budgets/plans to grow the district sales/profits.
⦁ Create monthly report summarizing overall market and volume and sales by product and customer.
⦁ Create a monthly summary of competitive volumes and pricing data in the US and Canada.
⦁ Develop annual budget, estimating sales and pricing.
⦁ Attend and participate in multiple industry conferences, arranging multiple customer meetings as well
as attend relevant technical sessions to gather data impacting our markets both short and long term.
⦁ Attend and participate in semi-annual internal sales meetings reviewing performance and market data.
⦁ Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
⦁ Bachelors degree or masters degree in marketing/business or related field preferred.
⦁ Experience in managing $200 million in sales revenue.
⦁ Excellent record of at least 10 years of sales leadership experience required.
⦁ Chemical industry background highly preferred.

Position Qualifications:
⦁ Proven consultative selling skills, analytical and conceptual thinking, financial aptitude, and awareness.
⦁ Strong business acumen (pricing, sales, P&L, expenses, etc.) is essential.
⦁ Must be very detail-oriented, work at a faster-than-average pace, and possess a service-oriented
attitude.
⦁ Must be able to work well independently under pressure and can work effectively as a member of a
team.
⦁ Other requirements deemed necessary by General Manager.

Physical Requirements:
⦁ This position requires minimal physical activity. It May require lifting up to 50 lbs on occasion.
⦁ May require computer usage for an extended period up to 8 hours a day.
⦁ Occasional exposure to various chemicals.
⦁ May require travel by car up to 50%.
