A new opportunity for a Civil Design Engineer is available in Derby.  As Civil Design Engineer you will be joining a talented team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers in my Client's Civils Engineering Division.

This role is ideal for a mid-level experienced Civil Engineer (2yrs+) who is highly motivated and who is aspiring to be an technically excellent design engineer.  My client can provide you with a highly supportive and structure environment offering you the perfect platform from which to further progress career wise. 

The Role

  • Providing high quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design.
  • Carrying out a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for a range of drainage applications.
  • Carrying out a range of adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway carparking and footpath structural pavement designs for a range of permeable and non-permeable
    surfaces.
  • Preparing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests, relating to drainage designs, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies. 
  • Preparing S104, S106 and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority. 
  • Preparing S184, S278 and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority. 
  • Report writing, e.g. Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports etc.
  • Complying with designers duties under the CDM Regulations

Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 2 years post qualification experience in Civil and Structural engineering
  • Full UK driving license and own transport
