Job Description:
Position: Business Development Manager
Location: Bangkok (Remote Work)
You will develop and increase sales volume and ensure that profitability objectives are achieved in the assigned territory. Actively seek out new business opportunities and explore untapped markets/verticals. The incumbent will manage new and existing distributors and lead marketing activities to build brand awareness and generate leads in export countries and key vertical markets in the assigned countries.
Responsibilities:
- Drive profitable growth of the commercial product line in assigned geographic territory
- Prospect, qualify, and convert new business opportunities into closed deals.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
- Develop and execute targeted sales plans to achieve revenue goals.
- Develop and execute action plans that reflect an understanding of the customers needs, emerging trends, critical opportunities, and metrics that will increase sales, expand market share, and improve profitability.
- Identifies and analyses the needs of current and prospective customers. Works with the local distributor organization, or independently when appropriate, to introduce, recommend, present and/or demonstrate Tennant products and services that will meet those needs.
- Trains distributor staff in effective time and territory management, use of sales aids, presentation skills, customer service, handling objections, closing skills, and ways to generate and increase sales volume.
- Identifies gaps in market coverage and takes appropriate actions by recommending distributor additions, replacements or deletions.
- Keeps management currently and fully informed on distributor staff development, key market conditions, competitive activity, and any relevant problems in the territory via monthly reports or sooner if needed.
- Analyse competitor activities and develop effective counterstrategies.
- Monitor industry developments and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Is accountable for complete product knowledge and services offered to distributors and end-users. Must comply with all International Department and company procedures, policies, and programs.
- Is responsible for monitoring and controlling expenses related to doing business in the territory. Satisfies in timely and complete fashion all business reporting requirements--Weekly: Business Updates and Expense Reports; Monthly: Preplans, Summaries Management Report; Quarterly: Distributor Action Plan, Machine Prospect List, and Machine and Supply Sales Forecast.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, distributors, and internal teams.
- Keep tabs on competitive landscape and make contingency reaction plans as necessary to reach goals.
- Work with Marketing Dept on internal and external marketing communication activities for APAC, including roadshows, exhibitions and customer seminars.
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer concerns promptly and effectively.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in any field.
- Japanese nationality
- Minimum seven years experience in commercial or industrial products sales with demonstrated competency in sustaining sales growth and marketing through distributor (channels) management techniques.
- Experience in managing multiple distributors within SEA and/or APAC.
- Experience in cross-cultural people management advantageous.
- Previous experience in developing vertical markets (F&B, Automotive, Logistics, Heavy Industries, Hospitality, Contract Cleaners) and key accounts
- Demonstrated capacity to control expenses and meet profit goals.
- Strong teaching skills with experience in teaching sales and technical knowledge regarding industrial products.
- Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
- Hands-on experience and willing to perform on products.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle cross-cultural situations.
