Completions Engineer

 Job Description:

Client: A joint venture exploring for and producing oil and gas from onshore and offshore fields.

Location: Offshore, Brunei Darussalam

Type of hiring: 1 year contract

About the role:

  • To carry out engineering design assignments concerning mechanical static equipment for oil and gas production facilities in conformity with clearly defined parameters and standards under general direction.
  • Works on behalf of the HOD and the lead engineer. A decision concerning specific projects to be agreed with the relevant project management team, and where it is not possible to reach agreement, must be referred to HOD.

Responsibilities:

  • To drive completion of systems to handover, in line with the project schedule and milestones, ensuring all systems are handed over fully certified in a timely and orderly manner
  • Development, issue and updating of all applicable completions procedures/working practices required for the delivery of the completions process
  • Co-ordination of the completions management database, ensuring data integrity is maintained to the highest standard
  • Ensuring mechanical completion data, documentation and handovers are in accordance with agreed project procedures and schedules and to the required standard
  • Liaison with Construction and Commissioning Teams in the development of project handover strategy and sequence
  • Liaising with Commissioning personnel to identify and deliver early pre-commissioning/commissioning gains
  • Ensure all applicable site/project safety procedures are fully and properly implemented throughout the completions phase. Liaise with the project Safety Representative to ensure that all staff have been trained in their use
  • Liaise with client representatives to ensure where applicable / required completions data/services are supplied
  • Interface with Project Management and Client Representatives on all matters applicable to completions, providing accurate reporting on status including identification of issues or concerns, which may impact project delivery
  • Completion of regular audits/reviews ensuring compliance with project procedures and standards
  • Definition and mark up of sub-system limits on P&ID / SLD's etc
  • Management of data downloads from Engineering into Completions Management Database
  • Management of change control associated with the completions process

HSE Leadership

  • Attend Safety Audits
  • Ensure that design focuses on safety in construction, maintenance and operation
  • Ensure that the workplace is safe
  • Be pro-active in safety, report hazards and concerns
  • Responsible for personal safety as per HSE Company policy & Clients Standard such as PAKAT

Operation Management

  • Support for the discipline's technical integrity role.
  • Ensure that all design documents comply with the codes and standards put in place by the client, or accepted industry standards.
  • Developing and maintaining the quality design standard for this discipline by using understandable quality procedures
  • Support HOD in Technical direction, advice and control of the work. Liaison with client discipline representatives to establish technical direction where not provided by codes & standards.
  • Coordination and preparation of input to essential documents, as provided for in the client's contract. Where responsibility for update of the Master Documents is handed to the Lead Discipline Engineer, procedures shall be put in place to maintain document integrity.
  • Quality Assurance Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.

Project Execution

  • To undertake all work within the estimated man hour budget and within schedule.
  • To define the engineering work in the Project, design methodology, or criteria using skill and experience as directed by the Lead Discipline Engineer.
  • Responsible for maintaining work progress (budget, schedule) and raising change documentation where necessary.
  • Supervision of technical detail, budget and schedule of discipline design in Project work where requested by the Lead Discipline Engineer when required.
  • Liaison with client, vendors and outside parties in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years experience and involved in at least 1 project in testing and completion of mechanical system and equipment of power plant.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and SLDs.
  • Excellent English communication both written and verbal.
  • Familiar with design and operation of power plants.
  • Strong IT skills are necessary to support the data manipulation and data import process. Skills include Excel formulae, pivot tables, filtering and sorting
