Senior Project Cost & Planning Engineer
Job Description:
Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.

Type of hiring: Contract
As a Senior Engineer specializing in Project Cost & Planning (AWP), your primary responsibility is to oversee the coordination and management of Package Contractors to ensure the delivery of Advance Work Packages in accordance with COMPANY specifications and guidelines. You are accountable for the correct implementation of AWP across the project, with key duties including:
- Understanding and communicating Company requirements for AWP.
- Guiding and supporting Contractors in the implementation of AWP.
- Maintaining real-time AWP software coordination with Contractors.
- Ensuring organizational commitment to AWP implementation.
- Aligning Project Contracting and Construction Execution Strategies with AWP.
- Developing comprehensive AWP Execution Plans, including staffing and training plans.
- Verifying the adequacy of Contractors' AWP execution and staffing plans.
- Participating actively in integrated planning sessions to integrate construction insights into the Path of Construction.
- Monitoring and reporting non-conformance issues related to AWP.
- Demonstrating expertise in developing and managing IWP, EWP, and PWP.
- Ensuring construction contracts explicitly require Contractors to implement AWP, detailing expected procedures and deliverables.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with additional certificates in AWP from a recognized institution considered advantageous.
- Possesses a minimum of 15 years' experience as a planning engineer in Oil & Gas projects, including at least 5 years dedicated specifically to AWP engineering across a full project cycle.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of construction industry processes and practices.
- Has practical experience in AWP, including the development, implementation, and ongoing updates using AWP software.
- Familiar with 3D model development and possesses a broad knowledge of engineering, procurement, delivery, and fabrication relevant to AWP operations.
- Deep understanding of the path of construction.
- Capable of effectively managing multiple contractors concurrently and adept at prioritizing tasks.
- Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by exceptional negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in the use of relevant software and tools essential for AWP.
- Knowledgeable about industrial practices related to AWP.
- Brings experience from various construction projects, particularly in Oil & Gas.
- Strong project management abilities, accustomed to performing well under pressure.
- Expertise in AWP software and 3D engineering software.
- Skilled in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet stringent deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
