Compliance Officer
Job Description:
Location: Chatuchak, Bangkok
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee Compliance and Data Privacy programmes and activities to ensure alignment with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, while providing expert advice on compliance matters.
- Ensure the organisation complies with all applicable laws, including Thai and US regulations (such as the FCPA).
- Design, execute, and continuously update the corporate compliance programme in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Establish, maintain, and review policies, procedures, guidelines, and tools related to Compliance and Data Privacy, including updates in response to regulatory changes.
- Assess risks, formulate risk management guidelines, conduct due diligence on third parties, and oversee pre-approvals for sensitive transactions.
- Prepare summary reports on compliance matters, including adherence to the Anti-Corruption Policy and Business Conduct Policy, while addressing compliance and data privacy issues.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes, operational developments, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Act as the designated Data Protection Officer (DPO) in line with the PDPA and other applicable data privacy laws.
- Perform data privacy impact assessments, identify risks, recommend corrective measures, and monitor implementation.
- Maintain the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) and review contract terms related to personal data protection.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders on data privacy matters.
- Address data subject requests and provide consultation on personal data breaches and incidents.
- Prepare regular compliance reports on PDPA and data privacy updates.
- Conduct internal audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to data privacy policies, along with delivering training sessions and awareness programmes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or any related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in compliance, with hands-on experience in Data Privacy. Experience as a DPO and knowledge of the FCPA is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in Thai and English.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficient in MS Office applications with leadership capabilities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Rayong is preferred.
