Senior Engineer, Reservoir Engineering
Job Description:
Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Type of hiring: Contract
Responsibilities:
- Estimate reserves and resources, maturity of resources, and development plan for both oil and gas accumulations. Provide a quarterly and annual report on reserve movement.
- Identify data acquisition requirements to monitor reservoir and well performance, analyze problems, provide solutions, and collaborate with relevant partners to carry out required actions such as well intervention or workover. CCS development and injection fields are both included.
- Support in the well perforation program, well treatment, reservoir management plan, and monitoring program, including drilling and well operations decision making.
- Ensure that well testing and data interpretation are planned and executed effectively in order to evaluate well performance and reservoir characteristics.
- Oversee core and fluid analysis to verify that they are carried out in line with well-defined processes and that the results are legitimate and consistent.
- Assess short and long-term well performance and compare it to predictions. Produce medium and long-term output forecasts and develop a field development portfolio.
- Initial, supervise, and conduct studies to assist reservoir management activities and the formulation of a field development plan. Includes a CCS Monitoring, Measurement, and Verification (MMV) Plan.
- Conduct reservoir simulation studies (if necessary) by incorporating actual pressure and production data for better reservoir performance prediction, reserve estimation, and identification of future development needs in terms of well-related work program, well targeting, and production strategy development.
- Create, develop, and analyze subsurface field development concepts while considering the range of uncertainties and acceptable economics to create the best field development plan and work programs.
- Assess enhanced recovery technologies and processes in preparation for the pilot and full field implementation.
- Analyze production data and allocate output for reservoir management, regulatory, modeling/simulation, and forecasting applications.
