Asset Planner Analyst (Oil & Gas)
Job Description:
Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Type of hiring: 1-3 years contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the organisation and oversight of all budget and business planning activities for the designated Asset, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This includes developing and delivering all components of the Work Programme and Budget (WP&B) and Home Office budgets accurately within specified timelines.
- Lead the coordination of monthly Finance & Operations (F&O) review report preparation in collaboration with Finance and functional management teams.
- Spearhead the creation of management summaries, reports, and presentations for local management teams, executive management, and external stakeholders.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of operational data across various business parameters to consolidate results, explain discrepancies, identify improvement opportunities, and facilitate value-centric decision-making.
- Effectively manage data pertaining to capital and operational expenses for the designated Asset, ensuring precise and timely reporting.
- Facilitate seamless communication among functional groups and business analysts, ensuring consistent data dissemination and efficient planning.
- Take charge of data preparation, analysis, and effective communication processes.
- Drive enhancements in processes and workflows to optimize the asset's value contribution to the fullest.
Qualifications:
- University degree (or similar qualification) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Engineering subjects.
- 15-years experience in the upstream petroleum industry, focused on Business Analysis in an operational or project development environment.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas exploration, development and production activities.
- Strong familiarity with management accounting for business-performance measurement, setting and tracking of financial and operating targets, identifying key value drivers, and with analysis methods and tools to support business decision making.
- Strong awareness of Production Sharing Contracts, Joint Operating Agreements and Sales Agreements.
- Knowledge of business drivers, including NPV, ROI and ROCE.
- Ability to work in a highly organized manner, and with precision and attention-to[1]detail.
- Well-developed analytical skills, with the ability to distill key insights from multiple sources of data.
- Efficient work style, with the ability to complete tasks quickly.
- Strong teamwork, communications, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in both oral and written English.
- Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, and appreciation of planning and economics software.
