Cost Control Accountant
Job Description:
Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Type of hiring: Contract
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts, as well as all related functions:
- Coordination of Annual Budgets for Corporate/Petronas and Outlooks.
- Coordination of Production Profiles.
- Estimated monthly Opex/Capex.
- As the point of contact for Production Operations in engaging with Finance:
- Monthly Cash Calls.
- Monthly Accruals and Opex/Capex Estimates.
- Cost Control and related functions:
- Develop, implement, and monitor systems for efficient and accurate cost control, including but not limited to budget deviations, AFEs, and ACVs.
- Additional Budget Requests (ABRs) to the relevant authorities if needed (to coordinate with Budget Section).
- Cost-control reports
- Collaborating with Finance to monitor inventory and spares movements and management.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for meetings (official/internal) whenever inputs are required.
- Preparation and distribution of necessary reports.
- Ensure that all activities are in accordance with all COMPANY, stakeholders, and government requirements and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 5 - 10 years' experience in a planning, analytic, or control function
- Strong personal and interpersonal abilities, as the position demands a great deal of coordination.
- Strong communication skills for working with, understanding, and inspiring project team individuals.
- A strong ability to learn other areas and a decent learning curve, as well as a strong dedication to meeting tight deadlines.
- Experience from Upstream O&G industries is added advantages.
