Marine Engineer - FPSO/FSO Project and Operations
Job Description:
Our client is an E&P company in the upstream oil and gas industry.
They are looking for a "Marine Engineer" to join:

Location: Bangkok, and offshore
The Marine Engineer will be responsible for the strategic oversight and management of FPSO/FSO assets throughout their lifecycle, encompassing project development, operations, and maintenance. This role requires a deep understanding of marine engineering principles, offshore operations, and regulatory compliance, with a specific focus on FPSO/FSO vessels.
Responsibilities
FPSO/FSO Operations and Maintenance
- Develop and implement comprehensive plans to achieve and maintain Document of Compliance (DOC) for clients operations under the Liberian Flag.
- Establish and manage a robust organizational structure, including the appointment of a Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO) to fulfill DOC requirements.
- Optimize manpower allocation to ensure efficient and compliant FPSO/FSO operations.
FPSO/FSO Projects
- Lead the development of bidding packages for new FPSO/FSO units, including vessel specification reviews, Statement of Requirements (SOR), and contract negotiations for Bareboat Charter (BBC) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M).
- Oversee FPSO conversion projects at onshore yards, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and classification rules.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize FPSO vessel management plans, maximizing Net Present Value (NPV) and tax benefits while aligning with production field life cycles.
- Lead the evaluation and planning for potential FPSO replacement projects.
- Serve as the marine subject matter expert (SME) representing the company in industry forums and collaborations (e.g., IESG, OVID, IMCA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in an appropriate Oil and Gas environment with at least 5 years in leading roles and SME. Strong safety and environmental awareness. Proven leadership qualities.
- In-depth knowledge of FPSO/FSO design, construction, and lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communicator at all levels; fluent in English and Thai, oral and written
