Mechanical QA/QC Inspector

Position: Mechanical QA/QC Inspector

Employment Status: 2 Years Contract

Working Hour: Monday - Saturday

Office Location: Bang Pakong, Chachoengsao.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and implement project-specific QA/QC plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and procedures for mechanical equipment, including piping, pressure vessels, steel structures, and rotating machinery.
  • Conduct and manage shop inspections and quality audits at vendor and subcontractor facilities. Review and approve all quality-related documentation, such as material certificates, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), and NDE procedures.
  • Lead and perform on-site surveillance and inspections to ensure all mechanical fabrication, welding, and assembly activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformities and quality issues. Lead root cause analysis and collaborate with project teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare detailed QA/QC reports, including inspection reports, audit findings, and final project quality dossiers (Manufacturing Record Books).
  • Mentor and guide junior QA/QC inspectors and other project personnel on quality protocols and best practices, fostering a strong culture of quality and safety.
  • Ensure all QA/QC activities are conducted in full compliance with the company's health, safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
  • minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in a QA/QC role within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy steel fabrication industry. Significant experience in a leadership or senior capacity on major capital projects, particularly with offshore facilities (jackets, topsides) and onshore modules, is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in the procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases of projects, with a strong understanding of both onshore and offshore environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and components. In-depth understanding of fabrication processes, including welding, non-destructive examination (NDE), and heat treatment.
  • Expert knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASME (e.g., Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, B31.1, B31.3), API, AWS, NACE, and ISO 9001.
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and propose practical, effective solutions to complex quality issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized software for quality management and documentation control.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Thai, a must for effective liaison with international clients, project teams, and local contractors.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for clear reporting and effective liaison with contractors, third-party inspectors, and internal teams.
