About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the newly established Thailand joint venture. This is a hands-on position with responsibility beyond general accounting, covering accounting operations, Thai taxation, banking activities, cash management, and financial risk review.

The successful candidate will work closely with management and cross-functional stakeholders to establish and maintain strong financial operations for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the Thailand joint venture, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Thai accounting requirements.
  • Handle month-end closing, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and other accounting processes.
  • Manage Thai tax compliance, including PND.3, PND.50, PND.53, and PP.30, and coordinate with the Revenue Department or relevant parties when required.
  • Support banking activities, including bank guarantees, credit facilities, letters of credit, and cash management.
  • Monitor cash flow and support effective working capital management.
  • Participate in the financial review of commercial, construction, procurement, and project contracts, identifying financial and commercial risks.
  • Work closely with management, project teams, procurement, commercial teams, banks, auditors, and external advisors.
  • Support the establishment and improvement of accounting and financial processes for the newly established business.
  • Ensure compliance with Thai Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS), IFRS, and applicable Thai accounting and tax regulations.
  • Prepare financial information and analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Occasionally travel to Zhuhai, China to support business and financial requirements.
  • Perform other finance and accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of Thai taxation and Revenue Department requirements.
  • Good understanding of Thai accounting standards (TFRS/TFAC) and IFRS.
  • Experience in engineering, construction, EPC, manufacturing, heavy industry, project-based business, SME, or JV environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience with local banking procedures, bank guarantees, credit facilities, or cash management will be an advantage.
  • Experience reviewing commercial or project contracts from a financial or risk perspective is preferred.
  • Able to work independently and manage accounting and complex financial matters with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial risk awareness skills.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment, particularly with Thai and Chinese stakeholders.
  • Mandarin Chinese is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Based in Bangkok or willing to work permanently in Bangkok.
  • Willing to travel to China occasionally when required.
