About the job Restaurant Manager - Coppola
Restaurant Manager - Coppola
Vida Plena is an innovative hospitality group founded in Lisbon in 2018, dedicated to making our guests and team feel truly at home. We pride ourselves on delivering warm, blissful experiences, fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere, serving top-quality fresh food, and providing exceptional service.
The Role
At Coppola, it’s about the warmth of a bustling dining room and the art of sharing naturally fermented cheesy pizzas. Nestled in Praça das Flores, we deliver high standards with an easygoing attitude. As our Restaurant Manager, you’re the one who keeps that energy alive. You guide a dedicated team with calm confidence, uphold our obsession with quality, and make sure that from the first antipasti to the last cocktail, every guest leaves feeling like family.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high service standards, ensuring every guest has a positive experience, addressing feedback promptly, engaging naturally with guests, and building strong relationships that increase satisfaction and loyalty.
- Ensure the consistent execution of brand standards, operational policies, service rituals, and the attitude that reflects the venue’s vibrant spirit and guest experience.
- Lead with strong operational presence on key days, peak shifts, and events, staying close to guest flow, team performance, service pace, and real-time venue needs.
- Oversee both restaurant floor and bar operations, ensuring service, product quality, ambience, communication, and team coordination are aligned throughout the shift.
- Lead and inspire the team, achieve operational targets, manage budgets, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and HQ.
- Manage budgets by tracking revenue and expenses, optimizing labor costs, implementing upselling strategies, and adjusting spending based on operational needs to enhance profitability.
- Manage team scheduling from planning to publication, ensuring shifts are properly organized, communicated, and aligned with forecasted business levels, key moments, and events.
- Control absences in the HRIS and review team clock-in and clock-out records before designated payroll dates, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and timely follow-up.
- Lead team management processes, including induction of new joiners, performance management and reviews, vacation planning and control, team organization, and active input on contract renewals.
- Recruit, train, and motivate staff to work effectively and cohesively by supporting candidate selection, implementing training programs, providing regular feedback, and fostering a positive, growth-oriented work environment.
- Monitor Google reviews and customer feedback to ensure the restaurant is always represented at the expected standard; react to negative reviews with care, report key issues to HQ and the Leadership Team, and implement agreed corrective actions.
- Ensure the restaurant complies with health, safety, and sanitation standards by monitoring HACCP protocols, enforcing hygiene practices, and conducting regular audits to uphold regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper restaurant opening and closing procedures, including venue readiness, briefing standards, floor and bar setup, stock checks, equipment checks and shutdown, handovers, and end-of-day documentation.
- Secure money storage and deposits, accurate documentation of financial records, and responsible control of operational assets.
- Be prepared to handle unforeseen challenges, such as staffing shortages, supply chain disruptions, equipment issues, or customer complaints, by quickly assessing and addressing issues with effective solutions that minimize disruption.
- Collaborate closely with HQ to ensure best practices are implemented across the venue and that operational learnings are shared in a constructive, solution-focused way.
What We Expect From You
