Position Objective

The role of this position (Business Development Analyst) is to support all facets of the Business Development Team by leveraging our DDS platform and internal research programs for value creation to provide synergistic growth opportunities, generate increasing revenue streams (sustainable ROI) to support internal platform growth and development, and expand our reputation as a premier organization and leader in drug delivery and development. The Business Development Analyst will assist and support exploring, evaluating, and integrating new business partnership and licensing opportunities and ensuring ongoing activities are fulfilled.

Major Job Functions

  • Assist with project support and stage-gate activities in corporate development tied to new DDS licensing and internal program partnerships.
  • Assist with building and maintaining alliance management activities essential to strong, productive and successful collaborative relationships.
  • Support efforts to keep alliance and project activities on track from early Client/ technical review through feasibility evaluation POC.
  • Support and work with the NAMBD Planning Team on execution and completion of Client strategic activities.
  • Manage and support key organizational, business, and operational activities for potential collaborative communication and business outreach
  • Work with internal program and project management stakeholders to support portfolio management activities, including scheduling, risk management, communication plans and reporting.
  • Assist with building and establishing business and portfolio infrastructure tools and processes to maximize Client Team effectiveness and activities.
  • Participate as needed with the organization, planning, execution and tracking of company partnership through all stages of the process and relationship.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and marketing trends
  • Support creation of strategic business models that build company value.
  • Support active Client meeting management (e.g. agendas, capturing minutes, tracking action items).

Education, Licensure and/or Experience

  • BS, MS in a technical discipline of science or engineering.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts in biology, chemistry, drug delivery and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated acumen and experience in business development, alliance, and portfolio management with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills for internal and external presentations.
  • Ability to build and sustain team relationships (internally and externally).
  • Analytical and organized approach with entrepreneurial qualities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other business degree.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art technologies and future technology trends.
  • Ability to deduce new research themes with strong market potential.
  • Prior experience with business development concepts, agreements and demonstrated value-creation function.

Physical Job Requirements:

Office/Lab environment.
