Position Description:
The IT Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the IT Department. This position combines administrative responsibilities with basic technical knowledge, enabling the individual to provide essential support to the IT team and other staff. The IT Administrative Assistant assists with various tasks, ranging from managing administrative duties to providing technical assistance to end users.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will assist the System Administrator with:
- Creation of user accounts in various systems.
- Disabling user accounts
- Assisting the system administrator with account review and cleanup across various systems
- Basic computer preparation prior to placement.
a. Joining to domain
b. Ensuring basic software is in place
i. Virus scanner
ii. Inventory Agent
iii. Office/Email if applicable
iv. CDK if applicable
This position will assist the Director of IT with:
- Obtaining authorization to purchase items requested by managers.
- Must coordinate with managers by providing the managers with PO Requests that they can forward to Amanda for approval
- Ordering authorized equipment
- Ensuring receipt and deployment of ordered equipment
- Ensuring that equipment is noted in asset inventory (as necessary)
- Ensuring that equipment purchase requests are recorded in the IT ticketing system
- Obtaining approval from Amanda for the issuance (and purchase, when necessary) of tablets and smartphones
- Ensuring that smartphones, tablets and other equipment are properly signed for and forwarded to the System Administrator or Director of IT for recording in Paylocity.
- Reviewing open tickets, ensuring none are unassigned.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in an IT environment.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Day Shift
Education/Requirements:
- High school or equivalent
Experience:
- IT support: 2 years (Preferred)
