The above comprehensive benefits package, plus:
- Police Officers who meet performance standards are eligible for annual merit step increases to a current maximum base pay of $50.74 hourly, $105,539 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Arizona applicants must have an Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) certification and be in good standing.
- Applicants certified in another state other than Arizona, must have at least one full year of experience as a first responder (excluding academy, administrative and training assignments, or jail detention officer duties).
- This is a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week operation. Employees are required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Vacation and shift assignments are determined by seniority.
- Requires walking for prolonged periods which may include walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces.
- Requires working outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, and dust.
- Positions in the Police Department must meet the polygraph and background standards that are appropriate to sworn positions.
