Responsibilities/Tasks Include:

  • Define and formulate the different strategies regarding regional expansion in Los Angeles/southern CA and work with various teams (Sales, HR, Finance, etc.) to create a centralized knowledge hub to ensure long term success
  • Build and launch a territory expansion roadmap in collaboration with senior leaders
  • Demonstrate brand value, trust, integrity, and rapport with potential clients and partners through a deep understanding of internal operations and company-wide goals and initiatives
  • Market end-to-end freight-forwarding services inclusive of air and ocean, import, export and domestic services
  • Develop and nurture business prospects and client base
  • Create and deliver sales proposals to key prospects and clients
  • Obtain and maintain complete and accurate information on prospective and existing clients in contact management database
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure successful onboarding of new clients
  • Demonstrate effective negotiation and closing techniques in securing profitable business across all products
  • Clearly communicate the development of potential business throughout the sales cycle
  • Manage the administrative tasks related to expanding presence in a new territory
  • Develop and maintain near and long-term staffing plans and hiring strategies that align with anticipated growth
  • Complete accurate forecasting and risk assessment of new growth and expansion plans
  • Uncover new opportunities within potential and existing clients
  • Coordinate with counterparts in other offices to produce profitable results on joint freight programs
  • Define, implement and drive logistics initiatives and ensure adherence (i.e. use of strategic partners, pricing strategy, reporting, quoting tools and methods, etc.)
  • Support corporate goals regarding business methods and processes
  • Partner with Corporate leaders to ensure territorial performance is aligned with corporate goals


Desired Skills/Experience:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, including sales, business development, strategic planning and business operations; experience in international freight forwarding/logistics/supply chain management required
  • 3-4 years of experience in an outbound sales role required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics or other related field of study preferred
  • Proven success in gaining new business through prospecting
  • Ability to use consultative selling to secure and maintain business
  • Solid verbal communication and an aggressive drive as well as commitment to develop and grow a client base
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Self-motivated with the ability to think strategically and demonstrates strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in using PowerPoint for presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Possess an analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports and correspondence
  • Ability to persevere and maintain sound judgment and sensibility during stressful and demanding situations
  • Ability to view business impacting factors/decisions both holistically and strategically
