About the job Senior Account Executive
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for day-to-day media liaison and project management within accounts. As the most media-focused role within the account servicing team, a senior account executive will thrive on successfully pitching their clients' stories to the media. This person integrates thought leadership and digital strategies and recommendations into PR campaigns. An SAE has the necessary skills to communicate effectively with and provide initial recommendations to their clients, teams and external parties, with the guidance and strategic input of their account lead and/or point person.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on agency PR experience
- Experience working within any tech verticals (including but not limited to: consumer-tech, med-tech, artificial intelligence, fintech) and startups
- Proven public relations results secured in major national outlets such as Inc., Fast Company, TechCrunch, NY Times and the Wall Street Journal
Job Duties Include:
- Assists account lead with the management of clients and projects
- Offers thoughtful, confident, sound advice and recommendations to clients and team regarding media strategy, tactics and media opportunities
- Maintains assigned relationships with clients, establishing self and as an invaluable long-term partner for marketing and communications services
- Demonstrates an understanding of current affairs, and more importantly, how they tie back to clients; share questions and ideas on how to maximize client coverage through narrative creation, storytelling and thought leadership outreach
- Identifies and secures opportunities within a wide range of industry and national news media; continually builds a solid understanding of the media landscape across national, regional, industry-specific and vertical channels
- Regularly generate new story angles and share with account leads and teammates without prompt
- Attends and coordinates industry events with a view to growing and strengthening individual and media network
- Is responsible for individual media goals on each account
- Understands and develops knowledge around how to find a good news angle or hook
- Takes a developmental approach to improving writing ability, adapting and refining style to suit the needs of the client
- Works to ensure a consistent level of quality for all written content
- Uses social media platforms to expand own network, develop media relationships and positively impact client results or PR campaigns
- Provides social media insight as well as execution and management of related digital activity as appropriate
- Provides guidance to Interns, Apprentices, Account Coordinators, and Account Executives
