Job Summary
The Senior Director, Pipeline & Product Communications will lead strategic external communications for pipeline programs and future commercial products. This role is responsible for shaping and executing integrated communications strategies that elevate scientific achievements, support key corporate and regulatory milestones, and enhance visibility among diverse external audiences including media, healthcare professionals, patients, and advocacy groups. The position involves significant collaboration with executive leadership and cross-functional teams such as clinical development, medical affairs, commercial, and patient advocacy.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead integrated communications strategies for pipeline and commercial products, including product launches, regulatory milestones, and clinical data readouts.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and internal partners on external messaging, positioning, and stakeholder engagement.

Create high-quality communication materials such as press releases, Q&A documents, media kits, and campaign content to promote scientific and clinical advancements.

Manage external agencies and resources to ensure strategic alignment, quality execution, and budget efficiency.

Oversee product-related media relations efforts and serve as the companys spokesperson for relevant announcements.

Partner with internal and international teams to maintain consistency in global messaging and communications strategy.

Monitor industry developments, competitive trends, and media narratives to inform proactive and responsive communication planning.

Support internal initiatives to increase employee awareness and engagement around key product and pipeline updates.

Establish and track communication performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, preferably in rare diseases or other highly regulated therapeutic areas.

Proven track record in developing and executing communications for clinical milestones, regulatory events, and product launches.

Strong collaboration skills across Commercial, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory teams.

Deep understanding of drug development and regulatory processes.

Skilled in translating complex scientific concepts into clear, compelling stories for multiple audiences.
