Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols to support accurate clinical evaluation. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining ultrasound equipment, ensuring exam rooms follow proper sterilization and safety standards, and reviewing patient medical charts to confirm the required images and videos prior to each appointment. The role involves assessing image quality before submission to the physician, promptly communicating any abnormalities or concerns to the care team, and providing patients with clear explanations of procedures to ensure comfort and understanding. A key aspect of the position is offering reassurance to patients who may be anxious or experiencing discomfort.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a CAAHEP-accredited program

  • Current ARDMS certification with OB/GYN specialty required

  • Previous OB/GYN ultrasound experience strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a sonographer preferred

  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiological functions

  • Clear and concise communication skills with patients and care teams

  • High attention to detail and strong accountability in handling medical information

  • Professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with patients
