Job Description:

Job Summary

The Systems Architect is responsible for defining, developing, and maintaining the high-level architecture of complex systems throughout their lifecycle. This role establishes architectural principles, core design features, and a long-term technical vision to ensure system integrity as solutions evolve. The Systems Architect works closely with stakeholders, product leadership, and engineering teams to align system architecture with business objectives, technical standards, and product strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the system-level technical roadmap aligned with product and program strategies

  • Collaborate with users, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to understand evolving system requirements

  • Define high-level system requirements based on stakeholder needs, cost constraints, scheduling considerations, and operational objectives

  • Ensure system requirements are complete, consistent, correct, and operationally defined

  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to determine optimal solutions using manual processes, software, hardware, or a combination of approaches

  • Promote reuse of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or internally developed components where appropriate

  • Allocate system requirements into well-defined subsystems and partitions to minimize interdependencies and communication overhead

  • Coordinate with architects of related systems to ensure alignment across product roadmaps and enterprise architecture

  • Define system interfaces and information exchange requirements between subsystems and external systems

  • Decompose large systems into manageable subsystems and components for efficient execution by engineering teams

  • Ensure architectural quality, consistency, and compliance with defined standards and best practices

  • Perform system-level technical risk identification, assessment, and mitigation

  • Develop acceptance test requirements in collaboration with design, test, and user teams to validate system performance and functionality

  • Create architectural models, prototypes, and early documentation to support alignment between users and engineering teams

  • Maintain system integrity by identifying and resolving interface risks and integration challenges early in the development lifecycle

Required Experience

  • Significant experience in systems architecture and system-level design

  • Strong understanding of system engineering principles and architectural frameworks

  • Experience working within data center environments or infrastructure-related domains
