Program Overview:
This role supports the Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. The system enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle developments, and manage networked sensors and weapons systems. C2BMC synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems to optimize performance and supports all system ground and flight tests, verifying and exercising current and future missile defense capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Primary Functions:

  • Support daily operations and management of the MS Windows-based enterprise environment, including:

    • Active Directory

    • Database Servers

    • Application Servers

    • Web Servers

    • License Servers

    • DHCP and DNS

    • NAS and SAN

    • Certificate Authorities and Certificate Management

    • Backup Systems

    • Security updates and patches

    • Active Directory replication

  • Create, manage, maintain, and delete group policies, user accounts, security groups, and distribution lists.

  • Configure desktops and servers to meet security requirements.

  • Maintain server configuration documentation and Sys Admin processes/procedures.

  • Perform backup and restore operations and manage off-site backup media storage.

  • Monitor server capacity (disk, CPU, memory) and performance tuning.

  • Install, manage, and maintain server-based applications such as Secret Server, DOORS, Solarwinds, System Architect, SQL Server, Axway OCSP Validation Authority, and Desktop Validator.

  • Manage enterprise storage (SAN and NAS).

Secondary Functions:

  • Assist with security audits, user desktop support, and hardware asset management.

  • Assist with desktop moves, adds, and changes.

  • Maintain helpdesk processes and procedures.

  • Assist with managing and maintaining network switches, routers, firewalls, and network printers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills:

  • Server setup, hardening, deployment, and maintenance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current/active DoD SECRET security clearance.

  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree in STEM, or a Masters degree with 3 years of experience, a PhD with 1 year, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).

  • Windows system administration.

  • PowerShell scripting.

  • Domain/Active Directory administration.

  • Backup and recovery administration.

  • Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

  • Multi-Factor Authentication implementation (e.g., PKI, ADFS, VMware ESXi, QAS/VAS).

Preferred:

  • Experience administering virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN).

  • Knowledge of Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.

  • Understanding of PaaS and SaaS concepts.

  • Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in IT environments.
