Job Summary Sonographer
This position is responsible for delivering high-quality ultrasound imaging and ensuring a positive, professional, and supportive experience for every patient. The Sonographer will perform a variety of obstetric and gynecologic scans, maintain equipment, and provide accurate preliminary imaging data to support clinical decision-making.
Job Responsibilities:

Review patient medical history and provider instructions.

Prepare ultrasound equipment and select appropriate settings for each procedure.

Explain procedures to patients and document relevant medical information.

Position patients to obtain the best diagnostic views.

Apply ultrasound gel to ensure proper sound wave transmission.

Operate ultrasound equipment to capture and record diagnostic images.

Monitor scan images for abnormalities and select key images for physician review.

Take measurements, calculate values, and record findings in preliminary reports.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure equipment is properly adjusted and maintained.

Protect patient confidentiality at all times.

Follow safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies and procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school diploma.

Associate or bachelors degree in sonography from an accredited program.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical sonographer in an OB/GYN setting.

Current ARDMS certification with OB/GYN specialty required.
-
Certification in nuchal translucency scans required.
