Job Summary
The Cardiothoracic Surgery team is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant with experience in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and surgical first assisting. This role supports a comprehensive adult cardiothoracic surgery program, including hybrid, minimally invasive, and robotic procedures.
The Physician Assistant will collaborate closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality cardiovascular surgical care.
Key Responsibilities

Perform endoscopic vein harvesting for cardiothoracic surgical procedures

First assist in cardiothoracic surgeries, including minimally invasive and robotic procedures

Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments

Participate in perioperative patient management and care coordination

Collaborate with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals

Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical record systems

Support quality and safety initiatives within the surgical program

Engage in continued professional development and clinical skill advancement
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Experience:
Clinical experience appropriate to cardiothoracic surgery preferred
Licensure/Certification:

Current Physician Assistant (PA) license required

DEA license required

AHA BLS-HCP certification required
-
Advanced Life Support certification preferred and required if using a defibrillator in practice
