Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Accounts Payable is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of domestic and international accounts payable operations. This position manages a team of professionals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payment processes while driving continuous improvement and scalability to support organizational growth. The role focuses on optimizing systems, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop an accounts payable team, promoting accountability and professional growth.

Design and execute a long-term AP strategy that aligns with business objectives and supports global scalability.

Partner with Finance, Procurement, Legal, and IT teams to enhance vendor management, contract compliance, and system integration.

Oversee full-cycle accounts payable, including vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and corporate card programs.

Manage the expense reporting system to ensure compliance and provide training for global usage.

Drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and operational efficiency.

Lead AP activities during month-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.

Ensure compliance with SOX controls, internal policies, and other regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with auditors, providing documentation and supporting audit requests.

Maintain compliance with Sunshine Act reporting, ensuring accurate data collection and timely submissions.

Serve as the subject matter expert for tax-related matters, including sales/use tax and vendor reporting requirements.
Qualifications

10+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership or management role.

Strong knowledge of AP systems, expense reporting, and international payment processes.

Intermediate understanding of tax requirements for domestic and foreign vendors.

Experience managing compliance with SOX and other regulatory frameworks.

Proven ability to implement process improvements and lead teams through organizational change.

Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries preferred.

Familiarity with large ERP systems (e.g., D365) is an advantage.
