Job Description:

Overview

A Senior Oracle Database Developer is needed to support client contract requirements. This is a full-time, fully remote position based in the Washington, D.C. area.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle stored procedures, packages, and schemas.

  • Create and manage Oracle partitions to optimize query performance and data maintenance.

  • Enhance and maintain existing applications based on client requirements.

  • Modify and improve existing procedures/packages to add new functionality.

  • Perform performance tuning for queries and packages.

  • Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts.

  • Analyze system issues, create remediation plans, and implement solutions.

  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and bug fixes.

  • Ensure compliance with established standards, processes, and best practices.

  • Provide technical and maintenance support for systems.

  • Manage projects independently and collaboratively in team environments.

  • Utilize Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Developer, PuTTY, Shell Scripting, UNIX, and Linux.

  • Communicate directly with customers to resolve issues and gather new requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field with 12+ years of IT experience (or equivalent).

  • Extensive, recent Oracle database experience.

  • 78 years of PL/SQL development experience.

  • Experience with AWS or GCP.

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail under pressure.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies.

Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Must have resided in the U.S. for the last 5 years with no cumulative travel outside the U.S. exceeding 6 months.
