Position Overview
- Role: Chief Clerk/District Court
- Reports to: Clerk of the Court and Clerical Systems Manager
- Responsibilities:
- Perform complex and confidential clerical tasks.
- Provide guidance and non-disciplinary supervision to court clerks.
- Handle public inquiries and resolve routine issues.
- Refer complex matters to higher-level supervisors.
- Must be deputized and bonded for legal actions.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience:
- 5+ years of progressively responsible clerical work. OR
- Graduation from a 2-year clerical/business program + 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience also accepted.
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- 2+ years of clerical experience within a court system.
Work Environment
- Physical Activities: Mostly sedentary; occasional lifting of objects up to 35 lbs.
- Location: Office-based within the District Court.
Other Requirements
- Pre-employment Screening:
- Medical exam (includes physical and drug screening).
- Criminal background check.
- Probationary Period: Employment is subject to satisfactory completion of probation.

- Eligible List: Qualified candidates will be listed for three months, subject to extension or exhaustion.
