Job Summary:

An Electrical Apprentice supports licensed electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This is an entry-level position that offers hands-on training and experience while working toward journeyman electrician status. The role involves learning and performing electrical work under direct supervision in compliance with safety codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist electricians with the installation of wiring systems, lighting, circuit breakers, and electrical panels.

Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using hand tools and power tools.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

Perform basic maintenance on electrical systems and components.

Help maintain a clean and organized job site.

Adhere to all safety protocols and electrical codes.

Support in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues.

Learn and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.

Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent (required).

Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program (preferred).

Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools.

Strong desire to learn and grow in the electrical trade.

Good hand-eye coordination and physical fitness to perform manual labor.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.

Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to job sites (may be required).

Work Environment:

Indoor and outdoor job sites in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

May require working in confined spaces, at heights, or during varying weather conditions.
