About the job Patient Service Representative Ambulatory Float Team
In this position, you will provide both administrative and patient care support to various ambulatory practices. Your responsibilities will include coordinating patient flow from registration through discharge, processing prior authorizations, and handling Surgery Scheduling tasks. As part of the Ambulatory Care clinic team, you will work to ensure smooth outpatient operations and deliver optimal patient satisfaction. You will also support different teams and practices during staff absences, such as those due to illnesses, holidays, or leaves of absence.
This role requires a highly flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive Team Assistant, as you will travel to community practices across the following cities:
- Calabasas
- Montecito
- Porter Ranch
- Santa Barbara
- Santa Clarita
- Santa Maria
- Simi Valley
- Ventura
- Westlake Village
Flexibility in travel and schedules is key to success in this dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to be highly flexible, travel to multiple work sites and work a variable schedule
- Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Skill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and E-mail, demonstrated work experience with a database computer program
- Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
- Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds
- Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment
- Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations
Preferred:
- Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows
- Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs
- Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programs
- Knowledge of hospital computer system and the various software products to perform administrative work
