The District Manager will oversee all territory management responsibilities, including the supervision of sales consultants in their assigned territory.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate would be responsible for:

  • Managing, supporting, and directing a sales team in an assigned territory with the outcome of achieving revenue and distribution goals.
  • Using industry knowledge to analyze sales data with the intent of identifying opportunities, trends, challenges, and performance gaps to achieve sales goals.
  • Fostering new and existing relationships with suppliers and customers to effectively execute market strategy to grow sales and distribution within their assigned territory.
  • Providing leadership and performance management, including but not limited to staff planning, staff development, coaching reviews, budgeting, and controlling expenditures.
  • Ensuring compliance with required training and event attendance.
  • Championing an inclusive team environment by developing meaningful and positive relationships with individuals from varying backgrounds and demographics.

What your day could look like

  • Analyzing reports, including month-to-date revenue and distribution goals, to create a strategy to address market trends.
  • Coaching sales consultants to maximize performance.
  • Spending time in your assigned territory between 2-4 days per week, with or without sales consultants, to provide support in the account base, survey the account, and develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Conducting wine dinners, tastings, and attending trade shows and company events.
  • Participating in meetings and seminars (live and virtual), and supplier work-withs as required.
  • Communicating with your team on a consistent basis to ensure various objectives are understood and met.
  • Engaging in cross-functional collaboration with internal customers to ensure sales and organizational objectives are achieved.

What does a successful candidate look like in this role?

A successful candidate would need to meet these minimum requirements:

  • High School or GED diploma required. Advanced education preferred.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, and goal-oriented environment as a proactive, independent, self-motivated leader.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales-oriented role within the fine wine & craft spirits industry and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Digital fluency for software and computing devices, including but not limited to laptops, mobile devices, iPads, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other proprietary technology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written/verbal).
  • Demonstrated track record of effective sales management, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment drug and background screenings.

Education

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

Required:

  • 5 years: Sales and/or Marketing experience in the fine wine industry
  • 3 years: Territory Management
  • 3 years: Personnel supervision
